ONLINE GRADUATE EXHIBITION

DEPARTMENT OF OF MULTIMEDIA AND GRAPHIC ARTS

CYPRUS UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY

Message from the Rector of the University, Dr. Panayiotis Zaphiris

The spring semester of the Cyprus University of Technology is coming to an end this month. During the six months in which the Administration's reflexes were tested in decision-making, the ability to transform theoretical knowledge into new applied methods of Teaching for the instructors, the ability to quickly adapt to new data by management and of course the mental strength of all.
At the top of our priorities, we have been protecting the health of our students and staff from the very beginning. At the same time, we aimed to complete the academic semester in relation to the courses, we did not leave any room for the semester to be lost for our students. Decisively and in a timely manner, we have formulated and implemented a guideline framework for the design of alternative distance learning methods, which included more than 480 undergraduate and postgraduate courses. We have adequately utilized our technological infrastructure, we have strengthened the cooperative spirit of our people, we have shown the maximum will for no one to be left behind.

This effort and its successful outcome was a collective affair. We were thrilled by the seriousness and dedication of our student representatives who responded to the call for participation in the crisis management team we formed.

Our optimism has been fueled by the zeal and efficiency shown by the relevant executives who supported all aspects of our actions. It gave us new confidence to learn and the willingness of our academics to put knowledge and experience towards the service of a great and collective goal. Our students made us proud of the courage, perseverance and responsiveness they showed in these unprecedented and demanding conditions.
A typical example of this new dynamic, as well as the ability for adaptability shown by our University in all areas, is the CUT-OUT event of the Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts. The samples of work of the graduates of the Department prove once again the excellent work carried out in the Department.
I extend my warmest congratulations to our graduate students who are exhibiting their work and for the successful completion of their studies, and I wish them every success in whatever they do. To the academic colleagues who contributed to the preparation of the online event, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks.

Message from the President of the Department, Dr. Andri Ioannou

Welcome to the final exhibition by the graduates of the Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts.
We have reached the end of yet another academic year. We would like to express our happiness that the students of our Department have managed, under rough circumstances, to complete their studies and prepare the CUTOUT2020 final exhibition.

The purpose of the Department is to provide the students with the academic knowledge and abilities to face the professional demands in the field of Multimedia and Graphic Arts. We are confident that through this showcase the goal has been achieved.

Due to the safety measures adopted by the Republic of Cyprus in the middle of March, the exhibition will take place online. We will be waiting for you on the 19th of June to explore the works of our students at cutout2020.com.

Just as every year, Mr. Yiotis Kyriakou, owner of "The Copy Shop" at Saripolou, will present two awards worth €250 to the best graduates of each direction. We wish to thank him for the initiative.

I also wish to thank my colleagues at the Department: Omiros Panayides, Eva Korae, Angelos Panayides, Kaiti Mavri, Theseas Mouzouropoulos, Doros Polydorou and Evripides Zantides, members of the organization committee for the final exhibition, as well as the technical assistants of the Department: Teresa Georgallis, Giorgos Pitsillides, Antonina Panagiotou, Paris Christodoulou and mainly Charalambos Margaritis, for the devotion they showed in supporting our students for their online exhibition.
I would like to congratulate our graduates for completing their studies successfully and for their eagerness to organize their final exhibition under these unexpected conditions.

On behalf of the colleagues at the Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts, I wish our graduates every success for the future.
